The Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church of Yorktown is dedicated to serving the students of Yorktown by providing opportunities for them to KNOW Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, GROW deeper in their relationship with Him, and SHOW their faith to the world.  FBCY Youth Ministry is committed to providing a safe and fun environment where students can accomplish these goals.  This is primarily done through the following two weekly events and other special events, as well as personal relationships between the students, staff, and volunteers.

YOUTH GROUP meets on Wednesday Nights from 6:00 to 8pm in the educational building.  All students from 6th to 12th grade are welcome to join us for a time of:

  • GAMES - your choice of something fun and energetic like dodgeball, trashketball, 4-square, or kickball, or something more relaxed like Apples 2 Apples or Mafia.
  • FOOD - something substantial like hot dogs or sloppy joes and chips, and something sweet like cookies or cupcakes, as well as plenty of soda or water.
  • FELLOWSHIP - hang-out time for students to mingle and get to know one another
  • BIBLE STUDY - We just finished our Jonah series, and will have a guest speaker this week. Soon, we will begin our Sermon on the Mount Small Group Series.

YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL meets on Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 10:45am.  All students in 6th through 12th grade are welcome to join us as we continue our Spring series. We will be using a curriculum published by Lifeway called "Bible Studies for Life." This is the same curriculum that will be used in our kids Sunday school class, and two of our adult Sunday school classes (although each class will still be geared towards that particular age group). This unity in our classes means that, as our kids and students learn about standing strong on the promises of God and living out their faith, parents can be learning the same material and can better follow up with their children after church.

Spring Break El Shaddai Missions Retreat will begin this Sunday and last until Youth Group on Wednesday Night. This is an overnight retreat where students will be challenged to grow spiritually through worship, preaching, bible study, prayer, and service. Students will also have ample opportunities for fun through planned games such as ultimate volleyball, glow in the dark capture the flag, obstacles course, and more.  Special Guest Speaker for the retreat is Rick Moore of Open Air Campaigners, and music will be brought by Chance and Shara Crow.

M-fuge registration has already begun. Check out www.fugecamps.com for more info. Camp will be held this year at Houston Baptist University on June 18th-22nd. Total cost is $370 per student including a $100 non-refundable deposit, but if students participate in all fundraising events, they are gauranteed to only have to pay their deposit.
