The Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church of Yorktown is dedicated to serving the students of Yorktown by providing opportunities for them to KNOW Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, GROW deeper in their relationship with Him, and SHOW their faith to the world.  FBCY Youth Ministry is committed to providing a safe and fun environment where students can accomplish these goals.  This is primarily done through the following two weekly events and other special events, as well as personal relationships between the students, staff, and volunteers.

YOUTH GROUP meets on Wednesday Nights from 6:00 to 8pm in the educational building.  All students from 6th to 12th grade are welcome to join us for a time of:

  • GAMES - your choice of something fun and energetic like dodgeball, trashketball, 4-square, or kickball, or something more relaxed like Apples 2 Apples or Pictionary.
  • FOOD - something substantial like hot dogs or sloppy joes and chips, and something sweet like cookies or cupcakes, as well as plenty of soda or water.
  • FELLOWSHIP - hang-out time for students to mingle and get to know one another
  • BIBLE STUDY - We are currently learning about the 10 Commandments in age and gender appropriate small groups..

YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL meets on Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 10:45am.  All students in 6th through 12th grade are welcome to join us as we continue our Fall series. We will be using a curriculum published by Lifeway called "Bible Studies for Life." This is the same curriculum that will be used in our kids Sunday school class, and one of our adult Sunday school classes (although each class will still be geared towards that particular age group). This unity in our classes means that, as our kids and students learn about standing strong on the promises of God and living out their faith, parents can be learning the same material and can better follow up with their children after church.

5th Quarter:  After every Yorktown Varsity Home Football Game, join us for the 5th Quarter!  This is a drug-free, safe environment in which students can celebrate a win (or a loss) with free food, games, and fun. This is a community effort with donations from many area churches, but will always be held at First Baptist Church of Yorktown's factilities.  The doors open as soon as the game is over and the activities will last until midnight. This year, we will have a 5th Quarter after all of the followin home football games: August 31st, September 7th, September 28th, October 12th, and November 2nd.

Trunk or Treat:  First Baptist Church of Yorktown will once again be entering our church van in the community Trunk or Treat held at the library on October 31st. This will be instead of Youth Group that Wednesday. We are currently collecting ideas for how we should decorate the van this year. Last year was a very successful nativity theme!
