The Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church of Yorktown is dedicated to serving the students of Yorktown by providing opportunities for them to KNOW Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, GROW deeper in their relationship with Him, and SHOW their faith to the world.  FBCY Youth Ministry is committed to providing a safe and fun environment where students can accomplish these goals.  This is primarily done through the following two weekly events and other special events, as well as personal relationships between the students, staff, and volunteers.

YOUTH GROUP meets on Wednesday Nights from 6:00 to 8pm in the educational building.  All students from 6th to 12th grade are welcome to join us for a time of:

  • GAMES - your choice of something fun and energetic like dodgeball, trashketball, 4-square, or kickball, or something more relaxed like Apples 2 Apples or Pictionary.
  • FOOD - something substantial like hot dogs or sloppy joes and chips, and something sweet like cookies or cupcakes, as well as plenty of soda or water.
  • FELLOWSHIP - hang-out time for students to mingle and get to know one another
  • BIBLE STUDY - We are currently learning about "Jesus First" as we study Colossians in age and gender appropriate small groups..

YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL meets on Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 10:45am.  All students in 6th through 12th grade are welcome to join us as we continue our Spring series. We will be using a curriculum published by Lifeway called "Bible Studies for Life." This is the same curriculum that will be used in our kids Sunday school class, and one of our adult Sunday school classes (although each class will still be geared towards that particular age group). This unity in our classes means that, as our kids and students learn about standing strong on the promises of God and living out their faith, parents can be learning the same material and can better follow up with their children after church.

Graduate Sunday: May 19th. Please join us in our regular worship service at 11am on Sunday, May 19th as we recognize all graduating seniors that have been involved in our youth ministry. Following the service, everyone is invited to a luncheon in the gym in honor of the gradutates and their families.

M-Fuge: We will once again be travelling to Houston, TX for our summer camp this year. M-fuge is a missions focused camp where students will be challenged to grow in their faith by using their gifts to serve, worship, study, and honor God with their peers from dozens of churches from multiple states. The total cost of this trip is $390 per student, but if your $100 deposit is paid, and you attend all fundraising events, your trip will be covered!

End of Summer Lock-In: Our youth group will be taking a break for the summer, with our last youth group of the spring being May 22nd, and we will start back up when school does on August 14th. What better way to kick off the fall semester than with an end-of-summer lock-in?!?! More details will follow, but for now, save the date: Friday, August 16th.
